Autoimmune Protocol Certified

What does it mean to have a product that is Autoimmune Protocol Certified?

Well, in order for a food to be considered Autoimmune Protocol Certified it must adhere to the autoimmune paleo protocol. This includes omitting the following:

  • Eggs
  • Emulsifiers (thickening agents and other food additives)
  • Fructose beyond 20 grams per day
  • Nightshade fruits and vegetables which include:
    • Cayenne
    • Eggplant
    • Goji Berries & the like
    • Potatoes
    • Red Pepper
    • Spices from peppers (Includes Paprika)
    • Sweet/Hot Peppers
    • Tomatillos
    • Tomatoes
  • Non-Nutritive Sweeteners including Stevia
  • NSAIDS (ibuprofen, aspirin, etc.)
  • Nuts
  • Likely gluten cross-reactive foods
  • Seeds, including:
    • Cocoa
    • Coffee
    • Seed-based spices

Our Paleo Perfection Natural abides by all of these protocols, which is why we can confidently say it is Autoimmune Protocol Certified! It has a huge amount of paleo protein gram for gram and still includes a superfood blend to give added nutrition. There are some paleo proteins that use eggs in the base for protein or include emulsifiers or gums that will cause problems for most autoimmune folks. Rest assured that you will take no risk with our Paleo Perfection Natural. Since it hasn’t been flavored, we encourage people to flavor it themselves by including other fruits or vegetables to further benefit their individual needs and preferences. It is a blank paleo protein canvas so have fun!

Admittedly, our Paleo Perfection Cherry Chocolate (by carob) uses a small amount of stevia to sweeten the protein so it is only Paleo Certified. However, some people with autoimmune don’t have adverse effects when consuming stevia but this is purely on a case to case basis so, IF you have an autoimmune disease, speak to a health professional before including stevia in your diet.

We tried to find another sweetener other than stevia for this amazing paleo protein but frankly no sweetener that meets the autoimmune protocol restrictions will sweeten as well as stevia without several grams of sugar or carbs being added to the supplement facts. You can’t have a paleo protein with several carbs or sugars! However, we promise that once we find a commercially available alternative we will use that in its place! We are all ears if you have suggestions!

We want to bring as many options and/or alternatives to autoimmune people. Anyone can benefit from our Paleo Perfection Proteins if you are just looking to supplement your diet or to increase your performance in the gym and especially if you have an autoimmune disease. We want to promote you and your family’s health ambitions. As we return to our roots amazing things can happen!
